Magazine Our Newspaper completely renewed

The magazine "Onze Krant" (Our Newspaper) of the Society for African Missions has been completely redesigned. The first issue, featuring a completely new design, is being published this week.

After ten years, the layout of Onze Krant was due for a refresh. Following the recent complete redesign of the SMA website, it was now the magazine's turn. The most striking change is the replacement of yellow with orange, interspersed with white and gray. The result is a beautifully stylish and cohesive look.

There have also been some content updates. For example, the editors are now endeavoring to highlight the activities of other SMA provinces in each issue. This will help highlight the work SMA missionaries are doing worldwide. In this first issue, Robbin Kamemba, the SMA provincial in Kenya, contributes to this effort. He writes about Muslim organizations in his country working to combat Islamic violence and engage in dialogue with Christians.

Also new in Onze Krant is the book column by Bert Boumans. In each issue, he pulls a book about Africa from his bookshelf and introduces it to readers. There are also, of course, familiar features, such as a pastoral story by Father Ambro Bakker SMA and an account by an SMA missionary. This time, Colinda Janssen talks about her contact with the "Beach Boys" in Liberia. In an interview, Father Gerard Noom SMA reflects on his 60 years as a priest this year. And of course, Onze Krant also features a puzzle and an African recipe.
