New board of Dutch province appointed

During the provincial meeting of the Society for African Missions in mid-July, a new board was appointed for the SMA-Netherlands. Father Fabian Gbortsu succeeds Father Jos Pijpers as provincial superior, who has left the board after many years.

Alan de Guzman has been appointed vice-provincial. Fathers Gerard Timmermans and Valentin Fadegnon have been appointed to the board. Huub Senden has been added to the provincial board on behalf of the lay missionaries.

The provincial assembly took place in mid-July at the St. Michael Mission House in Steyl and followed the SMA General Assembly, which took place in Rome in May. At that meeting, Father François du Penhoat was elected Superior General. He succeeds Father Antonio Porcellato, who served as Superior General for the past six years.
